Transmitter Status

Update August 2008: There are currently problems with three of the twenty radio transmitters originally installed for LINKED:

The transmitter at the far southwestern end of the route is currently inaccessible to the public, due to road closures for Olympic Park development. Therefore there is currently only one accessible transmitter between the southwestern end of the walking route and Leyton Tube Station; this transmitter is sited on Marshall Road.

The radio transmitter situated by the northern part of Dyers Hall Road has a faulty aerial. We are arranging for this to be fixed in August/September 2008.

The final transmitter with problems is normally sited on Grove Green Road close to Leytonstone Tube Station, but due to ongoing problems is currently not installed.

Because of the problems with these last two transmitters you will not hear any audio in the central section of the walk between the southern end of Dyers Hall Road, and the corner of Kingswood and Gainsborough Roads. However the other 17 transmitters are functioning well and the missing transmitters do not significantly detract from the experience of walking LINKED. We hope to resolve all of the above problems in the next months.
